7 Days to Praise: Day 7

I've decided to spend the week leading up to Valentine's Day in praise. Praising my husband, & praising God for the things I love about my husband. God is the author of true love - God is love - so what better way to celebrate the day of love than by praising love itself?
"God is love, and anyone who doesn't love others has never known him."
~1 John 4:8~

{  7 Days to Praise - Day 6: I love his love for the Lord}

As you might expect, my husband's love for the Lord is what truly brought us together. His heart for ministry and his desire for others to know Jesus has taken him on a path in life that led him to me. I love his passion for Jesus, and how much he wants others to share that passion. I praise God continually that He put that desire in Baron's heart, to love Him and to strive to be like Jesus every day.

God has truly blessed me with this man!
I love you, Baron.
Happy Valentine's Day!

7 Days to Praise: Day 6

I've decided to spend the week leading up to Valentine's Day in praise. Praising my husband, & praising God for the things I love about my husband. God is the author of true love - God is love - so what better way to celebrate the day of love than by praising love itself?

{  7 Days to Praise - Day 6: I love his heart for adoption}

When we had trouble getting pregnant years ago, it was actually Baron who first brought up the idea of adoption. I had never before considered adoption, because I always just assumed I would birth my own children. When we got to that time in our journey though, where infertility became a reality (although there was no medical explanation), Baron was the one who approached the subject. I remember the specific moment when God spoke to me, and He used Baron to do it when Baron said "Maybe we're not getting pregnant because God wants us to adopt?" Wow. What a moment that was, and look how far we've come! We have loved our adoption experiences so much that I completely lost my desire to ever get pregnant. And Baron is right alongside me in that passion. I love that he shares this love for adoption with me!

Today, he posted this on facebook, and yeah...I cried a little:

7 Days to Praise: Day 5

I've decided to spend the week leading up to Valentine's Day in praise. Praising my husband, & praising God for the things I love about my husband. God is the author of true love - God is love - so what better way to celebrate the day of love than by praising love itself?

{  7 Days to Praise - Day 5: I love his artistic talent}

Have you seen Baron's hobby?

This is a football figure that he customized for one of the PCA football players. See the detail?

Yeah, he's pretty awesome.

He has also done baseball, basketball, and hockey. High school, college, & pro sports. He also designs the packaging, which is super impressive but I don't have a picture to prove it.
(To see more of his work, visit his website. You'll be impressed, I promise!)

He also designs stuff like this, just for fun:

It's not his profession or anything, but it is a talent God has given him that he uses well. He uses his abilities to bless the lives of the kids at his school too; whether it is through football figures as senior gifts, t-shirt designs, or posters for the spiritual theme for the year. It may not seem like a big deal, but to have this ability is truly a blessing to others.

Oh, and one more thing...he did my nail art for Independence Day last year:

7 Days to Praise : Day 4

I've decided to spend the week leading up to Valentine's Day in praise. Praising my husband, & praising God for the things I love about my husband. God is the author of true love - God is love - so what better way to celebrate the day of love than by praising love itself?

{  7 Days to Praise - Day 4: I love him as a daddy}

Since the day he became a father, Baron has been an awesome one. I knew he would be, but to see him in action stole my heart. He told me when both Natalie & Tyson were tiny babies that it didn't "come natural" to him to nurture a little bitty one, but he still did it. And the bigger Natalie got, the more awesome he got as a dad. I love to see him with our babies, and I cannot wait to see how much he will continue to grow as a father. I am so thankful to God that he gave me such a wonderful man to help me parent my children!

7 Days to Praise: Day 3

I've decided to spend the week leading up to Valentine's Day in praise. Praising my husband, & praising God for the things I love about my husband. God is the author of true love - God is love - so what better way to celebrate the day of love than by praising love itself?
"God is love, and anyone who doesn’t love others has never known him."

{  7 Days to Praise - Day 3 : I love his ministry}

My husband is the Spiritual Director at a Christian school here in town, and he is also an assistant football coach. Those are two of his biggest passions - ministering to young people, and football. And he merges the two beautifully. He absolutely loves his job; although that's part of why he loves it - it's not just a job; it's a ministry. He loves the kids at the school, and he truly wants to see them love Jesus. Having him share his next chapel speech, or details about the next mission trip, or the conversation he had with a football player - those things delight me so much, and I know they make our Father proud. I am so encouraged by the things he does for the Lord, and I pray his enthusiasm never fades!

7 Days To Praise : Day 2

I've decided to spend the week leading up to Valentine's Day in praise. Praising my husband, & praising God for the things I love about my husband. God is the author of true love - God is love - so what better way to celebrate the day of love than by praising love itself?

{  7 Days to Praise - Day 2 : I love his self-discipline}

My husband has WAY more self-discipline than I do. He loves to work out, and he even does it on days when he doesn't feel like it. He talked me into changing our eating habits (which have been thrown off since the holidays, but I digress...). He is a lot more determined than I am, and I truly admire him for that. I love how active he is, how healthy he is, and how he tries to encourage me to do the same (even though I don't listen well!). God has blessed this man with a desire to better himself physically, and for that I am thankful!

{  7 Days to Praise - Day 1 : I love his voice }

My husband has an awesome voice. I love to hear him sing, and I love to hear him speak. When he speaks in public, he gets into this commanding tone, that almost forces you to listen to him. It's intriguing, and is definitely a gift from God that he uses to glorify Him. And we all know his singing voice is what got him his start in the Christian rap group he was in back in the day. :-)

Nightlight Christian Adoptions

Our adoption story was recently featured in the newsletter of our adoption agency, Nightlight Christian Adoptions. Our social worker asked me to write a short story for the winter newsletter, and of course, I had a hard time keeping it "short"! :-) Click on the image below to read the story; it begins at the bottom of page 2:
